Sorry I’ve been away

I thought I should check in, at least. Unless one day I have some unexpected free time, I won’t be posting much for the next month or so.

Not only do I not have time, but life is being such a bitch (I guess Life is a woman) that I also can’t concentrate. I have some really great essays planned for the Spearhead, but I can’t write them because I’m too tired and stressed to concentrate well enough to write a good essay.

I’ll sum up: one of my close relatives is now disabled and I’m having to be there a lot to help. I’m going to have to move. That means getting a new job. As you can see, I will be swamped. (Maybe I should be PC and say I’ll be wetlanded.)

I’ll check in now and then to approve comments, but don’t expect to hear much from me for the next couple of months, however long it is before I can get moved and my life in general settles down. Thanks for all the great comments that were waiting for me today, by the way. They really gave me a boost after the crummy week I’ve had!

My old friend Jonna just left another idiot hysterical flame here, which I rejected. Jonna, have you forgotten what I told you? If you want another comment approved here, you must do one of two things. Either:

1. Tell me the names of the mythical feminists who you pretend won me and other women freedom of speech.

Or:

2. Admit the fact that feminists did not do this.

I gave you this challenge months ago. You’ve had plenty of time to get a man to show you how to look up historical facts on wikipedia. Still you haven’t bothered to even attempt to support your transparent lies.

Quick note

Many of you probably know that Mangan’s blog has been shut down for discussing non-PC facts that our overlords don’t want us thinking about. Because of that, I’m updating my wordpress backup of this blog for the first time in a while. Thus far I’ve only heard of HBD blogs being censored, not MRA ones, but I’m sure it’ll happen eventually.

Those of you who have Blogspot blogs, be sure to back them up. If not on wordpress, then on your hard drives. Freedom of speech only applies to Democrats in today’s brave new world.

A new insult from my detractors

Just got a new comment on one of my old posts. Actually, the commenter first made this comment a few days ago and I automatically deleted it since it was a flame, but then I wrote him/her and asked if s/he would resubmit it. I wanted it on display because it’s such a sterling example of feminist arguments. I could have just pasted it into one of my posts, but I figured people would believe I had made it up, that no real feminist would make such a stupid and badly spelled argument.

What’s got my attention is how s/he finished his/her comment:

And one more thing, Female Misogynist, i think you maybe a transsexual man, or a male at heart, have u considered this before?

That Holocaust denier who denounced me a few months ago for being a tool of the Zionist conspiracy, and who also declared that feminists are steadily joining the ranks of white supremacists because of the frequency of black-on-white rape, said much the same thing on his blog.

I think two incidents of this denotes a trend, and I think it’s funny as hell.

(Also, I once got a flame that accused me of actually being a man, but any female blogger who makes even a mild criticism of feminism gets the same accusation.)

A blog worth reading

Believe it or not, I am capable of feeling respect for a woman. It’s just that so few of them deserve it. Of the few who do, none are feminists.

I discovered Hestia’s blog when she commented on my latest post at The Spearhead. I approved of her immediately; here’s a conservative who is outside the conservative mainstream, a mother who takes child-rearing seriously, a woman who believes that women being strong means women taking real responsibility, working hard, and adhering to principles rather than indulging her whims of the moment. In addition, she’s a homesteader, which I approve of despite being a city dweller myself. (I suspect I’ll spend my retirement puttering in a garden and canning things, making up for these years of apartment dwelling.)

But it was when I discovered her commitment to homeschooling that I added her to my blogreader and commented telling her how awesome she was.

New Essay at The Spearhead

I have a new post up: Self-Control: A Masculine Quality.

Several commenters have related that they know married couples who fight a lot, and the women don’t understand why, after being subjected to enough vicious insults and verbal attacks, their husbands lock themselves in their mancaves saying quietly, “Please just leave me alone,” or get in the car and drive off. These men are removing themselves from the temptation to retaliate physically, which is what men are made to do.

Given that women are more verbal creatures and more perceptive about personality, we’re capable of inflicting a lot more psychological pain with our words than men are. Now that women are sheltered from harmless reminders of male anger, they feel free to tear their men apart with words and expect men not to fight back with their own weapons.

These men mentioned in those comments are exercising a commendable degree of self-control. But really, we shouldn’t be demanding so much of them. It’s unfair to men to ask them to absorb so much abuse.

But it’s become normalized. I watched a few episodes of The West Wing a few years back, and I was amazed at the way the First Lady treated her husband. I had one long-term relationship with a man before I came out. I would never have treated him with such disrespect – and he wasn’t even the leader of the free world. Not because I was afraid of him, I wasn’t, but because I assumed that no human being worthy of the name would tolerate that kind of treatment. Nor should they.

Solipsism

From Wikipedia: “Solipsism is the philosophical idea that one’s own mind is all that exists.” It adds, “Metaphysical solipsism is the variety of idealism which maintains that the individual self of the solipsistic philosopher is the whole of reality and that the external world and other persons are representations of that self having no independent existence.”

Many people – by which I mean “liberals” – have a mild form of this disorder. They really, truly do not believe that anyone can disagree with them. Therefore, people who say things they don’t like, like me, must be lying. Really, we agree with all their bullshit about equality and government intervention and all the rest of it! We’re just pretending to disagree to be mean to them! Because, you know, we don’t have anything better to do with our time than spend hours writing blogs or even books that we don’t mean to make them mad!

I mention this because just today, I got a comment from a new reader, saying he (?) loves my blog and hopes it isn’t a satire. Now and then I get comments accusing me of being a “troll”. Good grief, look at how many posts I’ve made. Look how many links I’ve dug up. Look how many books I’ve read and reviewed. Would anyone put that amount of work into something they didn’t believe in?

But solipsists, believing that the world revolves around them, never think that.

And you don’t have to have views as unfashionable as mine to get this reaction. I’ve gotten it over much more popular views. Some years back, when I was a mainstream conservative, I got into an argument on some forum about the then-President. Some woman (naturally it was a woman) claimed that my views were so outrageous that my post “must be a joke.” Now, think about this. She had to be fully aware that enough people in this country disagreed with her to get the candidate she didn’t like elected president. Why single me, of millions of voters, out as a “joke”? Did she imagine that every one of the millions of people who vote Republican are doing it as a “joke”? “Ha ha, I’m going to cast my ballot for someone I can’t stand. What a great joke!”

This is partly because TV and newspapers are so monolithically left-wing. And feminist to the point that it’s comical, particularly the way movies and TV shows constantly depict women as beating up men twice their size. Liberals are dumb enough to believe that TV depicts real life. Leaves them completely unprepared for the real world, which is full of unenlightened people who believe their own eyes instead of the fantasies of left-wing professors.

This tendency to blame and hate women that arises in some segments of the MRA/MGTOW community appears to be a relatively recent phenomenon. I’m not sure why this is. It could be that traditional society carried an implicit recognition that women were fallen creatures too, but was also resigned to the fact that women were going to do what they were going to do, and given the necessity of men leading and women following, thought it more important to discipline men. (Incidentally, this would contradict the Roissysphere’s description of men as keys who will adapt themselves to whatever shape women choose their locks to take, but that is a topic for another entry.) And it could be that in modern society, even MRAs/MGTOWers have unconsciously absorbed the belief in female equality, so they expect women to make decisions on the same basis as men do, and become angry at them when they don’t.

Very true. Expecting women to reach the standards of men is a recipe for misogyny, because they’ll never reach them.

I have read both Roissy and Whiskey make the point that as society becomes more feminized, credentialism becomes more prevalent….
Unfortunately, our society is becoming more and more obsessed with standardized credentials, even as there has been a broad devaluation of the credentials themselves. This means that although it no longer means all that much to have a higher degree (due to affirmative action, grade inflation and other factors), the degrees themselves have become more of a necessity for even entry-level jobs that require few skills beyond typing and filing. This is preventing plenty of talented people – mainly young men – from obtaining positions in organizations in which they could potentially contribute a great deal.

Credentialism.

There are those that believe that by maintaining the old codes of chivalry, by sacrificing and accommodating feminists, that by not becoming the very thing the feminists say men are, that somehow men will prevail in the end by virtue of being nice….
It will not work with the feminists. It has been tried for forty years, and men are vilified more, not less. It is time to realize that niceness is the path to destruction for men, it is time to set that aside and become men, uncompromising and unsympathetic to the weakness and emptiness of our society.
